The benefits of importing a Porsche are that Porsche cars largely have the same specifications worldwide. Left hand drive U.S. car is same as left hand drive anywhere else. The weak dollar makes an attractive proposition but bear in mind that there are additional costs involved; VAT, duty, shipping and registration.

Importing a left hand drive into the EU isn’t specifically difficult but you need an SVA (single vehicle approval) because the car does not have an EU certificate of conformity. The value of most U.S. derived left hand drive cars is marginally less than its EU delivered sisters.
